Australia-Malaysia Institute Cultural Exchange Program

Under the AMI Cultural Exchange Program, six young leaders from Malaysia travelled to Australia from 19-26 May 2014 for a range of meetings in Melbourne and Sydney. The participants were selected from a broad cross-section of Malaysian society.

About the Australia-Malaysia Institute

The Australia-Malaysia Institute was established in 2005 to strengthen people-to-people and institutional links with Malaysia and to deepen mutual understanding and cooperation between Australia and Malaysia.

The AMI is a wholly Australian initiative and is funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The Institute works with institutions and individuals in Australia and Malaysia to achieve its objectives. The Institute also seeks to enter into strategic alliances with possible sponsors and partners to enhance its programs.

The Australia-Malaysia Institute is presided over by a Board appointed by the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

The Institute is supported by a Secretariat which is located in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Canberra.
