30 March 2017 update: DFAT has updated the information it released on 28 November 2016 (added APTC Board presentation).
An Investment Concept for a proposed third stage of the Australia-Pacific Technical College (APTC) is provided for the information of the market and prospective tenderers.
The current phase of the Australia-Pacific Technical College (APTC) is due to conclude in 2018. The APTC is highly regarded across the region, with over 10,000 Pacific Islanders graduating with Australian qualifications since 2007. The next phase of APTC provides an opportunity to integrate lessons learned about TVET systems in the Pacific, Pacific labour markets, and labour mobility and to recalibrate APTC’s strategic direction and intent. APTC will transition from a primary focus on direct service delivery to increasingly integrating with Pacific TVET systems to strengthen the quality of TVET provision by Pacific institutions. APTC Stage 3 will work closely with industry and enterprises to ensure training meets domestic and international training needs, and to connect graduates to labour migration pathways.
The APTC Stage 3 design process has commenced and is expected to be completed by the end of June 2017. An Investment Design Document will accompany a planned request for tender around September 2017 in accordance with the Annual Procurement Plan on the AusTender website (www.tenders.gov.au).
A market briefing on the Investment Design will be scheduled in mid-2017.
