Mr Jeff Robinson


Mr Robinson commenced his career with DFAT in 1987 and has served in the capacity of several senior level Australia-based assignments in DFAT over the years. He has worked in both the Japan & Korea Sections in the North Asia Division in DFAT in various roles; and in 1997 he was the Director of the Korea Section, North Asia Division. Mr Robinson has served as Assistant Secretary, National Security and Intelligence Branch, International Security Division (2005-2007); Assistant Secretary, East Asia (China) Branch, North Asia Division (2003-2005); Director, Counter-Proliferation Section, International Security Division (2003). Mr Robinson was Counsellor (Political-Strategic Affairs) in Tokyo (2000-2003) after having completed Language training (Japanese) from 1998-2000.

Mr Robinson is married with two children. He has a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) degree and Bachelor of Arts (Asian Studies) degree from the Australian National University and a Graduate Diploma in Strategic Studies from the Joint Services Staff College.
