Angus Mackenzie is the Australian Ambassador to UNESCO and Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy Paris. He also serves as non-resident Ambassador to Chad.
Angus is a senior career officer of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Previous positions have included Assistant Secretary, Consular Policy and Assistant Secretary, Parliamentary and Media. He has held postings as Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission, Australian Embassy Rome (2003-2006), First Secretary, Australian Embassy Paris (1995-1999) and Consul, Australian Consulate-General Noumea (1988-1991).
Angus holds an Honours degree in Arts from the University of Sydney and a Masters degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Newcastle. He speaks French and Italian.
