Cecilia Brennan commenced as Director of the DFAT Northern Territory Office in June 2017. She is responsible for managing the Department’s engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders including the NT government, business, academia and the arts.
Ms Brennan is a career officer of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. She has served overseas as First Secretary at the Australian High Commission to India and as Third Secretary at the Australian High Commission to Colombo. She also spent six months working at the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI) in Honiara. In Canberra, Ms Brennan has worked in a number of areas including the bilateral desks for Sri Lanka and India, the arms control section and on trade policy.
Ms Brennan grew up in Sydney and holds a Bachelor of Arts/ Bachelor of Commerce (Hons Government and International Relations) from the University of Sydney. She speaks German.
Ms Brennan is married and has two young children.
