CHO CHO presented in Sydney and Melbourne

CHO CHO is a bi-lingual musical theatre work based on the 'Madam Butterfly' story set in 1930s Shanghai.  It is a co-production between the National Theatre of China, Playking Productions and Arts Centre Melbourne, and is the first joint production of this scale between Australia and China.  The script is created by Daniel Keene, music by Cheng Jin.  CHO CHO is directed by Peter Wilson with re-rehearsal director Lech Mackiewicz.  The cast is drawn from leading actor-singers from China and Australia with Wang Zheng as Cho Cho and Scott Irwin as Pinkerton.

The Production has already been presented at the National Theatre in Beijing (January 2013),  Shenzhen Festival (March 2013), Concourse Theatre, Sydney (September 2013) and the Playhouse, Arts Centre Melbourne (October 2013).  It is available for further touring in 2014/15 through Arts Projects Australia.
