Mr Dunn was appointed a Deputy Secretary in November 2013 following the integration of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID). He joined AusAID as Deputy Director General, Chief Operating Officer in 2012.
Prior to joining AusAID, Mr Dunn was the Deputy Secretary for Participation, Families and Older Australians in the Department of Human Services and Child Support Registrar. He was also Deputy CEO at Medicare Australia and Centrelink. Mr Dunn helped shape major national reforms to social support programs and influenced public sector workplace reform by negotiating two large APS enterprise agreements. He also led the organisation change associated with integrating Department of Humans Services, Medicare Australia, Centrelink and Child Support into one department.
Mr Dunn holds a Bachelor of Arts and Diploma of Education from Macquarie University, an Executive Fellowship from the Australian and New Zealand School of Government and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.
