Samoa
Samoa Swim Coaches: $6,650 – Deliver the SwimEd Swim Australia Teacher training course to 20 primary and secondary teachers from a number of schools and community sport leaders
Faatuatua Christian College: $3,600 – Purchase equipment for an after-school inclusive sports program, fund three school 'sports days', enrol three teams in a local girls netball competition and provide first aid and sports coaching training to four teachers
Palauli Sports Centre: $4,430 – Purchase swimming, athletics, weight-lifting, cricket, volleyball, rugby, badminton and table tennis equipment to increase community participation in sports in a rural area of Savaii
Solomon Islands
Maoro Community High School: $8000 – Fund a youth sports development program, including the construction of an outdoor concrete court as a venue for youth futsal, netball, basketball, and volleyball training and for hosting inter high school competitions in a rural provincial area of Malaita
Solomon Islands Scuba School Dive: $9,000 – Complete the training and development of eight Solomon Islanders (two men and six women) to prepare them for potential employment as dive instructors at eco-lodges in provincial areas
Solomon Islands Volleyball Fed: $10,000 – Conduct workshops for schools (kids 14 and under) in five provincial centres of Western, Choiseul, Temotu, Isabel and Rennell/Bellona Provinces
Swimming Fed of Solomon Islands: $7,590 – Run basic first aid training and swimming lessons for local swimming clubs
Tonga
Tongatapu Youth Congress 1: $6,018 – Fund equipment to be used in a free weekly sports and recreation programs for between around 500 youth in Tongatapu
Tongatapu Youth Congress 2: $9,957 – A project to extend previous successful work of an ASOP-funded ongoing series of health workshops on physical and mental health for 8 youth groups (250 youth), as well as a weekly inter-village volleyball competition
Federated States of Micronesia
FSM Grassroot Soccer : $10,000 – Develop the game of soccer in the Federated States of Micronesia
Swim for Life - Palau: $9,961 – Train an initial group of Palauan certified swimming instructors/coaches to conduct life saving activities in Palau
Papua New Guinea
AFLPNG Niu Kick: $5,000 – Expand the regional Niu Kick Development Program into schools
Vanuatu
Vanuatu Paralympic Committee: $6,065 – Support the tennis club to greatly increase numbers of player with a disability in tennis programs
Akuma Centre School: Yumi Plei Plei: $9,900 – For building materials to construct a multi-purpose court for basketball and volleyball games on the island of Epi.
Manua Centre School: $10,000 – For building materials to construct a multi-purpose court to cater for basketball, volleyball and futsal (indoor soccer) games for a rural school at North Efate
Fiji
Fiji Volleyball: $4,930 – This project has two strands: (1) training volleyball players, coaches and administrators to promote active sports participation by young rural women and (2) deliver messages about vulnerability to HIV and AIDS to program participants
Fiji Outrigger: $9,790 – To introduce an ocean rescue training course, similar to the Australian Surf Life Saving Association’s Bronze Medallion, in 3 locations: Suva, Nadi and Savusavu
Fiji Table Tennis Association: $7,200 – Extend community participation in table tennis especially among disadvantaged groups, including among people with a disability
Kiribati
Kiribati Amateur Boxing Association: $9,551 – Develop boxing in Kiribati, with a focus on females, through grass roots activities to improve health of participants, competitiveness and discipline
Cook Islands
Cook Islands Rugby Union: $6,158 – Equipment for activities to introduce children of the outer-islands of Cook Islands to Rippa Rugby, training of outer-island physical education teachers and build on previously funded activities in Rarotonga
