Celebrating 50 years of Australia-Singapore bilateral relations

This year, 2015 marks the 50th anniversary of Australia-Singapore diplomatic relations. To mark this historic occasion, the Australian and Singapore Governments have committed to elevate the bilateral relationship to a new Comprehensive Strategic Partnership that recognises the deepening engagement between our governments.

In support of this new Partnership, our governments have agreed further to implement a ten year roadmap of joint initiatives – “Project 2025” – to enhance cooperation across the economic, foreign affairs, defence, security and people-to-people spheres.

The 50th anniversary of Australia-Singapore relations will be marked by a series of high-level bilateral visits and a creative celebratory agenda hosted by the Australian High Commission in Singapore. The comprehensive program, themed “50 Bridges”, will involve an array of cultural performances, artistic displays and community events.
