Biography

Mr Maclachlan joined the Department in 2002, serving in the Office of the Minister for Foreign Affairs and as a Deputy Head of Mission in Australia's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva. Before taking up his current post in Brussels, Mr Maclachlan was Assistant Secretary of the International Organisations Branch in Canberra.

Prior to joining the Department, Mr Maclachlan worked in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, the Australian Federal Police and the Office of National Assessments.
