Briefing for DFAT partners on DFAT's Child Protection Policy 2017

DFAT's updated Child Protection Policy 2017 was released on 20 January 2017. The policy, originally launched in 2008, provides a practical framework for all DFAT partners to create safe environments for children.

DFAT invites participants from each partner organisation to attend a briefing session to learn about the changes in the updated policy.

The briefing sessions are being held nationally and will include discussion on:

  • Key changes to the policy
  • Compliance standards and gathering evidence to document compliance
  • Implementing a 'risk management approach' in practice
  • Developing child protection policies
  • Managing child exploitation and abuse allegations
