The country strategies for China, India, Indonesia, Japan and South Korea were launched by Prime Minister Kevin Rudd in July and August 2013. These country strategies take forward the objective of the Australia in the Asian Century White Paper: for Australia to build stronger and more comprehensive relationships with countries across the region.
India is a major regional power, and one that is rising globally. Of Australia's significant bilateral relationships in Asia, that with India has perhaps the greatest potential to grow and develop towards 2025.
