The value of Australian-produced merchandise exports fell by 13.4 per cent in 2009-2010 to $192.9 billion as a result of the global economic downturn, according to the report.

Australian export volumes for goods, however, rose 7.0 per cent in 2009-2010.

The analysis and tables can be found on the DFAT website at: Exports of primary and manufactured products 2009-10.

The publication analyses trade data on Australian-produced merchandise exports using DFAT's own Trade Export Classification (TREC) for financial year 2009-10.

The publication also includes the outcomes of a departmental review of DFAT's Trade Exports Classification (TREC) and recommended changes to the classification system.

Exports of Primary and Manufactured Products is part of a series published each year by DFAT, providing a valuable account of Australia's international trade in goods and services.
