Flight disruptions in northern Europe
17 April 2010
Following a volcanic eruption in Iceland a number of countries in northern Europe have closed their airspace temporarily, including the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Ireland, Belgium, Sweden and Finland.
Severe disruptions to flight schedules can be expected on Friday 16 April and over the coming days.
Travellers departing Australia on Europe-bound flights may experience difficulties obtaining accommodation if delayed in transit hubs such as Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong.
If you are planning to fly to or from Europe in the coming days, contact your airline for more information.
