Flooding in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia

The Australian Government wishes to express its condolences to those impacted by the unprecedented and serious flooding in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, and in particular to communities who have suffered the loss of family members. The impacts of this disaster will be felt deeply within the affected communities within Australia.

Australia continues to monitor the situation closely through our partners including the EU, UN and Red Cross Societies and has met with officials from the affected countries to discuss the impact of the floods, the response to date and likely future needs.

The Australian Government continues to advise travellers to exercise normal safety precautions in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. Australians in affected regions should monitor local media and follow the advice of local authorities. Australian travellers in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia are encouraged to read and subscribe to the travel advice for these countries and register their contact details at smartraveller.gov.au.
