Launch of the new Smartraveller advertising campaign

2 November 2015

The Minister for Foreign Affairs launched the new Smartraveller advertising campaign on 2 November, designed to encourage Australian travellers to be more self-reliant and take greater responsibility for themselves when travelling overseas.

The advertisements will be featured on television and in digital, print, outdoor and social media as well as translated content targeted toward non-English speaking Australians.

DFAT has also released the inaugural Consular State of Play report which highlights and explains DFAT’s annual consular data, drawing on statistics from the recently published Annual Report.

The Smartraveller campaign aligns with the Department's Consular Strategy 2014-16, while taking a fun and light-hearted approach to the serious issue of being informed and prepared to travel safely overseas.
