The Australia-ASEAN Emerging Leaders Program (A2ELP)

First announced by Prime Minister Turnbull during the inaugural ASEAN-Australia Biennial Summit in Laos in September 2016, the Australia-ASEAN Emerging Leaders Program (A2ELP) will bring together young professionals to highlight Australian and South-East Asian creativity and innovation in social impact and demonstrate the role of business in driving social change.

As the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) develops momentum in the years ahead, this sector is widely identified by many experts as a way to contribute to rapidly evolving economic changes.

The program brings 15 social entrepreneurs from across our region to participate in an intensive eight day incubator. Working with Asialink at the University of Melbourne, participants will learn new techniques and identify opportunities to scale up, increasing their enterprises’ impact. They will also expand their personal and professional networks and build their knowledge of Australian community life.
