Submissions

To ensure the White Paper is based on the best possible advice and harnesses the wide range of views, interests and talents in the Australian community, the Government has undertaken a comprehensive public consultation process. As part of this, we sought your contributions and ideas through public submissions.

Public submissions have now closed. Please find the list of formal public contributions below. For information on the submissions publication process, please see the bottom of this page.

Publication process

Anonymity

A submission is identified as 'Anonymous' where the contributor has asked that their name not be published.

Exclusion

The White Paper Taskforce exercised discretion in publication where submissions were not deemed appropriate or relevant.

Redaction

The content of some submissions has been redacted to remove:

  1. a) personal or identifying details other than the contributor's name;
  2. b) the contributor's name where they have asked for anonymity; or
  3. c) offensive content that did not support foreign policy debate.

Campaigns

Submissions were treated as campaign submissions where five or more submissions used similar language to discuss the same issues.

Copyright and content

Copyright in submissions resides with the author(s), not with the Australian Government.

The views expressed in these submissions are the views of the author(s) and should not be understood as reflecting the views of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Format

Submissions were provided to the department in a range of formats. All submissions have been published in a common portable document format [PDF].
