The Passports Office is located at the Tasmanian State Office. Counter service is available weekdays 8.30am–4.00pm. Passport information and appointments are available from the Australian Passport Information Service on 131 232.

Tasmania State Director, Anita Planchon

Anita Planchon is a career diplomat who joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 1996. She has held positions in Canberra in South and South East Asia Division, International Organisations and Legal Division, Pacific Division, and Consular, Public Diplomacy and Parliamentary Affairs Division, and has served overseas as third and then Second Secretary, Australian Embassy, Hanoi, Vietnam (1999-2002), Deputy High Commissioner, Honiara, Solomon Islands (2002-2005), and Consul General in Noumea, New Caledonia (2007-2011). She was appointed Director of the Tasmania State Office in November 2012.

Anita was born in Adelaide and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Adelaide, a Master of Arts (Foreign Affairs and Trade) from Monash University and a Master of Arts (Applied Linguistics) from the University of New England. She speaks French, Vietnamese and Solomon Islands Pijin. She is married to Denis Planchon with two children.
