Release of 2019 Employee Census

Each year the Australian Public Service Commission surveys staff from government agencies about their working environment, career intentions, and their views on leadership and management.  The Department uses its employee census results to measure and improve our performance, to inform our corporate policies, and to help build staff capability. 

The 2019 census shows our staff are engaged and committed to the Department's strategic direction, and are willing to go the extra mile when required.

Results on diversity and inclusion are also positive, including an improvement in employee perceptions of the Department's commitment to creating a diverse workforce.

While the 2019 census results show some areas for improvement, overall employees believe the Department is heading in the right direction.
