Western Australia State Office

About us

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) offers services to Australians overseas through a network of diplomatic and consular missions. DFAT also maintains a domestic network of offices in state and territory capital cities to help advance Australia's foreign policy, trade and development interests.

DFAT's Western Australian State Office provides a range of services in support of our Portfolio Ministers and Assistant Minister, assisting the Western Australian Government in its overseas endeavours, engaging with Western Australian business, academia and the community sector and assisting the general public, where needed, with consular services.

We also make sure that the Australian Government is in touch with the needs of Western Australian businesses and industry by encouraging trade links, promoting trade liberalisation (including bilateral and multilateral trade agreements) and facilitating participation on trade missions.

The Western Australian State Office is led by State Director, Ms Kate Longhurst.

Applications for Australian passports may be lodged at most Australian Post Offices. For information, please see the Passports Website.

If you intend to lodge a passport application directly with an Australian Passport Office, you must first call 131 232 to make an appointment.

Authentications, Apostilles and CNIs

Document legalisations (apostilles and authentications) and Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage for Western Australia are provided through the Perth Passport Office between the hours of 8.30am and 1.00pm Monday to Friday.

Services are by appointment only. You can make an appointment by phoning 1300 935 260. Refer to the Legalising documents page for forms, costs and other important information.
