Ms Caitlin Wilson
Ms Wilson is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. She commenced in Port Moresby in January 2018.
Most recently, Ms Wilson was Deputy Head of Mission and Deputy Permanent Representative, Australian Mission to the United Nations in New York (2015-2017). Overseas, Ms Wilson has also served as Counsellor at the Australian Delegation to the OECD in Paris (2008-2011), as Law and Justice Specialist for the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI) (2003-2005). She was previously posted to Port Moresby as Second Secretary (1999-2002).
In Canberra, Ms Wilson has held a range of positions in DFAT, AusAID and the Department of Defence. Before taking up the New York role, she served as an Assistant Secretary with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, supporting Australia’s Presidency of the G20. Prior to this, Ms Wilson was Assistant Secretary, PNG and Solomon Islands Branch, AusAID.
Ms Wilson holds a Masters degree in International Development from Deakin University, a Bachelor of Business-Management from Queensland University of Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland.
