Summary of publication
The purpose of this document is to provide guidance on how to manage an evaluation under DFAT’s evaluation policy. It introduces the policy and explains the characteristics of an independent evaluation in that context. The document describes different types of evaluations undertaken by DFAT, including joint evaluations. It then provides step-by-step guidance on managing an evaluation from scoping to contracting a team, detailed planning, conducting data collection, responding to the findings and recommendations and publishing. The document contains links to other useful resources to assist DFAT staff to manage the evaluation and to articulate DFAT’s evaluation quality requirements.
