New Colombo Plan

The New Colombo Plan is a signature initiative of the Australian Government which aims to lift knowledge of the Indo-Pacific in Australia by supporting Australian undergraduates to study and undertake internships in the region.

Indo-Pacific Centre for Health Security

The Indo-Pacific Centre for Health Security offers the opportunity for Australian university students to undertake voluntary six-week internships on a self-funded basis throughout the year. The Centre seeks people with the skills, education, knowledge and abilities to undertake complex research projects to advance change and innovation in health security policy and practice. Applicants should possess relevant qualifications and background, and be applying under an existing university program for course credit. Prior exposure to, or knowledge of, the International Health Regulations, Joint External Evaluations, health workforce development, disease surveillance and related areas is highly desirable.

Tourism Australia

Tourism Australia offers internships to undergraduate and postgraduate university students who are required to undertake a work experience placement as part of their course curriculum.

They also provide paid opportunities for students who are studying Marketing, Business or Communications related disciplines, or who have qualifications in these fields, through a Professional Cadetship program.
