The Bahamas does not have official diplomatic representation in Australia. The relationship is managed through its Beijing Embassy.
The Bahamas is a member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and other regional organisations, including The Association of Caribbean States. It is a member of the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) grouping, which includes small island states in the Caribbean, Pacific and Indian Oceans.
Australia and The Bahamas are members of the Commonwealth, the WTO and the UN. As at October 2019, Australia and The Bahamas are jointly serving on the Human Rights Council, International Maritime Organziation Council and International Telecommunication Union Council.

July – Former Foreign Minister Julie Bishop met The Bahamas Foreign Minister Darren Henfield at the 38th CARICOM Summit in Grenada.
The Australian Government supports Australian investors in The Bahamas by providing support and advice on political, economic and regulatory environments.
