The Council of Ministers (COM) is IORA's peak decision-making body that brings together Foreign Ministers from Member States to discuss policy and agree on future strategic directions.
The 18th Council of Ministers Meeting took place in Durban, South Africa, in November 2018 and saw the admission of the Republic of Maldives as a member state and the inclusion of Turkey and the Republic of Korea as Dialogue Partners.
The First IORA Leaders' Summit in Commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of IORA and its related meetings were held in Jakarta, Indonesia between 5 and 7 March 2017. The summit produced a number of noteworthy outcomes, including:
