This year we commemorate the Australia-China Council's 40th anniversary (since it was established by the Australian Government in 1978) to promote mutual understanding and foster people-to-people relations between Australia and China. The people-to-people relation is based on a long history of people-to-people links going back more than a century before the establishment of diplomatic relations.
The ACC's current and former Board Members include several eminent and influential Australians.
To mark the ACC's 40th anniversary, a treasure trove of photographs, documents and stories will illustrate the story of the Council's achievements since in 1978. This photographic exhibition and stories was collated with the assistance of the National Library of Australia, documentation and archival resources from DFAT and National Archives of Australia.
