Project summary

The Australia-China Youth Dialogue (ACYD) brings together 30 high-performing Australian and Chinese delegates aged 25-40 for a four day annual inter-disciplinary dialogue. Delegates explore critical themes relevant to both countries that challenges them to broaden their thinking on the bilateral relationship.

All delegates are accomplished emerging leaders selected from a diverse set of backgrounds. They have demonstrated sustained commitment to public service, outstanding academic credentials, and extensive leadership experience.

The dialogue uses a variety of formats, such as interactive panel sessions, security crisis simulation sessions and entrepreneurial pitch sessions. All sessions are guided by leading Australian and Chinese experts drawn from a range of backgrounds.

The principal goal of the ACYD is to develop deeper and broader relationships between key emerging leaders from Australia and China. These relationships, over time -- facilitated by the ACYD Alumni Network (product of the ACYD) -- will foster spin-off collaboration across a range of sectors.
