Project summary

The AusAsia Business Research Group of James Cook University in Townsville will hold a forum to update the business community in the Townsville and broader North Queensland region on the latest economic and market development in China in September 2017.

In the past few decades, Australia’s trade with China has expanded most impressively and China has now become Australia’s largest trading partner. China’s economic growth has somewhat slowed down in recent years and its future sustained growth is facing various challenges. Developments in China will have important implications on Australia’s economic wellbeing and thus it will be very important to Australia’s business community to devise appropriate strategies to cope with the dynamics in the Chinese market.
