2016 ASP recipients LI Shu, RAO Li-lin and ZHENG Rui from Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences gave a presentation in Brisbane in September 2017. More than twenty staff from Land and Water, Ocean and Atmosphere, Energy and Data61 of CSIRO, as well staff from Qld State Government DSITI attended the presentation.

Project summary

The Australian Studies in China Program (ASP) provides grants to individual scholars and to Australian Studies Centres in China.  The ASP has its current focus on three categories of activities:

  1. Competitive Projects for Research and Curriculum Development - this activity seeks to encourage high quality, original research by Chinese academics and graduate students and to support the teaching of Australian Studies in Chinese universities;
  2. Collaborative Initiatives for Australian Studies Centres – this activity will support the collaboration between the large number of well-established Australian Studies Centres in China which teach and conduct research across a wide range of disciplines;
  3. Internal Travel Grants - this activity will facilitate visits between centres in China for collaborations within/involving ASC network and/or to consult resources held in other centres or university libraries. The final area of activity is a new Australian Studies Journal to be published by Beijing Foreign Studies University.

Australia-China Council grant offer: $60,000.00
