Project summary

Arts Centre Melbourne has secured an exclusive season of Three Monks by China National Children’s Theatre.  Three Monks will be highly integrated with Victorian schools, and as an exclusive Melbourne event, and it will be incorporated into Visit Victoria promotions celebrating the year of China-Australia tourism in 2017.

Adapted from a well-known Chinese fable ‘Three Monks’ explores the philosophy of unity and cooperation. The story unfolds using classical elements of Chinese culture; drawing on traditional movement, opera and martial arts, making it highly accessible for families and multi-lingual audiences.

This project aims to reflect the diversity of the Australian community on our stages, and creating opportunities for public engagement with the cultural traditions of China.
