Organisation: Genesis Horticultural Solutions

Sector: Science, Technology and Innovation

AIC Priority Area: Building connections through an educational or community setting

Project description

Genesis Horticultural Solutions will identify suitable personnel to create a collaborative team of horticulture specialists, suppliers and educators/trainers in stage one to build a commercially viable Australian Horticulture Centre of Excellence in India, providing training and train-the-trainer services – beginning with hydroponic and protected crop growing for the commercial vegetable industry.

Hydroponics provides a sustainable and water efficient way of producing food - requiring a firm understanding of the principles and techniques of the practice.

Genesis Horticultural Solutions have observed existing 'centres of excellence' in India that fall well short of providing suitable environments and equipment to promote this efficient form of production.

We can guide the Indian industry towards the correct level of technology to assist Indian growers to become more efficient and productive.

We will include partner organisations such as Australian TAFE's and Indian training institutes as well as chambers of commerce, industry groups and rural women's groups in India.
