Project description

STRUT Dance is the National Choreographic Centre based in Perth WA. STRUT's program delivers internationally benchmarked development, collaboration and performance opportunities for Australian independent dance artists, with a focus on building the Western Australian dance profile through local, national and international programs.

International partners include: Batsheva Dance Company (IS) , William Forsythe Foundation (DE), Crystal Pite (CA), Hofesh Shechter (UK), Punchdrunk (UK), which represent some of the most visionary and pertinent choreographic voices working in the world today.

STRUT Director Paul Norton will travel to Indonesia in order to develop partnerships with Indonesian artists and organisations and centres of dance excellence with the specific intention to design pathways of access and exchange across the STRUT Dance Program to include:

  • A Master Workshops Program
  • Performance opportunities in annual and major performance outcomes
  • Residency at STRUT with access to studio, dancers and production facilities in order to develop new work
  • STRUT networking events to develop and extend opportunities
