The Australia–Japan Youth Dialogue will bring together young Australian and Japanese leaders to explore relations between our two countries and develop personal ties between delegates for the benefit of both nations into the future.
Emerging at an important moment in the bilateral relationship, the Dialogue will gather a diverse group of young leaders for a future-focused policy and ideas exchange canvassing the crucial relationship between Australia and Japan.
In its first year, the Dialogue will host 20 young leaders—10 from Australia and 10 from Japan—who have a proven professional track record and a demonstrated commitment to the bilateral relationship.
Delegates will participate in a three-day expert-led program exploring a wide range of topics including politics, economics, culture, security, innovation, entrepreneurship and education. The Dialogue is an opportunity for delegates to deepen their understanding of Australia–Japan relations, as well to extend their personal and professional networks.
The inaugural Australia–Japan Youth Dialogue will be held in Melbourne in May 2017.
The Australia–Japan Youth Dialogue will join well-established youth forums supporting Australia’s relationships with the United States, China, India and Indonesia.
