Project description

In 2018 the ACO will return to Japan to present, in conjunction with the Australian Government, two performances in Tokyo, participate in a music education exchange and undertake market development activities across Japan.

The artistic centrepiece of the tour will be two performances by the ACO at the Yomiuri Otemachi Hall in Tokyo.

The Orchestra’s music education exchange will be facilitated by ACO violinist Aiko Goto. A member of the ACO since 1999, in 2016 Aiko was awarded a Japanese Foreign Minister's Commendation for her significant contribution to the Japan-Australia Friendship on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Basic Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Japan and Australia.
