Project description

The United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals represent a global attempt to create a fairer, prosperous and sustainable society for all.

This workshop is a contribution towards realising Goal 17 – strengthening the means of implementation and revitalising the global partnership for sustainable development.

It will bring together former Australian and Japanese participants in the Australia Japan Emerging Research Leaders Exchange Program (AJ ERLEP) to address selected UN Sustainable Development Goals from a transdisciplinary perspective.

The workshop will leverage the extraordinary cross-disciplinary skill set and networks of the AJ ERLEP, expertly facilitated by staff and fellows of ATSE and its Japanese sister academy, the Engineering Academy of Japan (EAJ).

Both academies have committed, as far as possible, to collaborate in addressing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, an aim shared by the Australian and Japanese Governments.
