The New Colombo Plan is a signature initiative of the Australian Government which aims to lift knowledge of the Indo Pacific in Australia by supporting Australian undergraduates to study and undertake internships in the region.

Undergraduate students can apply for a scholarship program of up to 19 months, including study, internships or mentorships, and language training.  A flexible mobility grants program offers short and longer-term study, internships, mentorships, practicums and language studies.

The New Colombo Plan provides opportunities to live, study and work in 40 eligible locations in the Indo-Pacific region.  40,000 awards so far

New Colombo Plan Alumni

The alumni program supports alumni to maintain connections to each other, the private sector and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.

The alumni network is growing fast – there are more than 14,000 alumni including 229 scholars.  The alumni ambassadors program is supporting one alumnus form each Australian university to promote the New Colombo Plan.
