Tourism spend breaks records Australia-wide
The latest National Visitor Survey shows Australian tourists spent a record $61.7bn for the year ending March 2017, an increase of $3.7bn, Minister Ciobo announced yesterday. International tourist spending also increased over the same period – up 5% to $39.8bn, reaching a new total spending record of $101.6bn.
PACER Plus signed
The Pacific Agreement on Closer Economic Relations (PACER) Plus has been signed by Australia, New Zealand and eight Pacific island countries – Cook Islands, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, and Tuvalu. PACER Plus is unique in that it is both a trade and a development agreement. “PACER Plus will provide an important avenue to achieve Australia's objective to foster a secure, stable and prosperous region,” Minister Ciobo said.

Minister Ciobo will lead a delegation of businesses to Australia Business Week in India 2017. Registrations enabling participation in the delegation are now open.
