AusAID has supported rural development in Indonesia for several decades, with a focus on the eastern provinces. AusAID's new Rural Economic Development program will share management arrangements with the Australia Indonesia Partnership for Decentralisation
(AIPD). The new program will be known as AIPD-Rural and aims to increase farmer incomes by improving their competitiveness.
The draft design document is subject to ongoing negotiations with the Government of Indonesia and funding approval. The proposed program includes a role for an implementing service provider who would deliver technical assistance and capacity development,
and assist coordination of activities.
The draft version of the design document is provided for the information of prospective tenderers in advance of the request for tender. Further adjustments will be made before the release of the final design document, which is expected to be issued with
the request for tender. The AIPD Delivery Strategy, currently under implementation, is also provided for reference.
This information is provided for planning purposes only and it does not represent solicitation or constitute a request for proposal, nor is it a commitment to purchase the described services.
