The Draft Design Document (dated April 2018) for a proposed investment, Economic and Social Infrastructure Program (ESIP), is provided for the information of the market and prospective tenderers.
The ESIP is a 15-20 year commitment by the Government of Australia to support the Government of PNG to improve its approach to infrastructure planning, procurement, financing and delivery. It will focus on a range of sectors including energy, telecommunications, water, health and education. The objective of the program is to improve the prioritisation, quality, and sustainability of infrastructure investment in PNG.
Subject to the final financial delegate approval, proposed funding for ESIP is $300 million over eight years, following a phased approach of 4 + 4 years. It is likely that DFAT will require a Contractor to provide management services for ESIP. If approved, the proposed procurement will be listed on the AusTender website when it is released to market.
