The Investment Design for the Australia Pacific Training Coalition is provided for the information of the market and prospective tenderers.
The current phase of the Australia-Pacific Technical College (APTC) is due to conclude in June 2018. APTC3 is expected to commence in April 2018 and run for four years and three months through to mid-2022, with an option to extend for a further four years. The anticipated DFAT budget contribution will be up to $128.75 million for the first four years and three months.
The APTC is highly regarded across the region, with over 10,000 Pacific Islanders graduating with Australian qualifications since 2007. The next phase of APTC provides an opportunity to integrate lessons learned about TVET systems in the Pacific, Pacific labour markets, and labour mobility and to recalibrate APTC's strategic direction and intent. APTC will transition from a primary focus on direct service delivery to increasingly integrating with Pacific TVET systems to strengthen the quality of TVET provision by Pacific institutions. APTC Stage 3 will work closely with industry and enterprises to ensure training meets domestic and international training needs, and to connect graduates to labour migration pathways.
DFAT approached the market on 20 October 2017, the request for tender can be found on the AusTender site www.tenders.gov.au
