Business opportunities
AusAID, the Australian Agency for International Development, manages the Australian Government's official overseas aid program. The fundamental purpose of Australian aid is to help people overcome poverty. This also serves Australia's national interests by promoting stability and prosperity both in our region and beyond. AusAID focuses its work in areas where Australia can make a difference and where its resources can most effectively and efficiently be deployed.
The Philippines Provincial Road Management Facility (PRMF)
AusAID is seeking to conduct pre-tender industry engagement for the Philippines Provincial Road Management Facility (PRMF) development project in the Philippines.
The objectives of PRMF include improving the accessibility of local roads in ten (10) provinces and building sustainable systems for road management. PRMF engages provincial governments in performance-based partnerships that encourage changes to the way they do business, particularly by investing in sustainable road maintenance. PRMF support will also make local government more effective in delivering basic services including roads, more transparent in its operations, and more accountable to its citizens.
AusAID assumed full and direct management responsibilities of PRMF from 1 October 2012. It is expected that AusAID will continue full and direct management responsibilities of PRMF until a service provider is identified to support AusAID in managing the program by October 2013.
Industry briefing–Manila
AusAID is in the process of re-shaping the program and is seeking to conduct pre-tender industry engagement through a PRMF briefing to be held in Manila, the Philippines on 30–31 January 2013. This industry briefing will inform an approach to market via a one (1) step tender process in March 2013. All potential tenderers are strongly encouraged to attend the briefing.
Organisations interested in attending the PRMF briefing should register their participation no later than 2.00pm Canberra time, 23 January 2013 through the email address PRMF@ausaid.gov.au. Details including the location of the PRMF briefing and an agenda will be provided to registered participants prior to the briefing.
