The request for Expression of Interest for Kiribati Education Improvement Program (KEIP) has now been released on Thursday 4 June on AusTender: AusTender ATM ID:DFAT-307
Expressions of interest are sought for implementation of Australia’s basic education support to Kiribati (2020-2022).
Given tight travel restrictions DFAT has delayed its intended design of a long term education investment, instead opting for an additional 21 months consolidating the existing KEIP outcomes and to maintain our commitment to the education sector in Kiribati. The KEIP Phase III Design Document was published in January 2016 detailing program goals. The program will have significant focus on schools construction and maintaining existing program goals which have previously been provided through Phase III of the Kiribati Education Improvement Program. There is potential the 21 months will expand, noting the need for flexibility and adaptation in what has become a rapidly changing environment.
DFAT’s emphasis remains on support towards improvements in student learning in basic education and sectoral system strengthening, in line with the priorities of the Kiribati Ministry of Education Sector Strategic Plan (ESSP) 2020-2023 and Australia’s policy in the education sector.
DFAT anticipates undertaking a two-step procurement process for an implementing partner with the first step being advertised Thursday 4 June on AusTender. The procurement will be a collaborative approach to leverage the experience and expertise of interested stakeholders and will include a collaborative event with shortlisted organisations.
Organisations will be asked to demonstrate their capacity to mobilise by October 2020 through this procurement process.
The Request for Tender is expected to be issued in August 2020 and open to the successful shortlisted organisations through the EOI process.
