Dr Greg French

Dr French is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and was most recently seconded to the Department of Defence as Senior Legal and Non-Proliferation Adviser, Nuclear Powered Submarine Taskforce.

He has previously served overseas as Australia’s Ambassador to Italy and Australia’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, as well as in Germany.

Dr French speaks German and Italian and has a Bachelor of Arts/Laws from Macquarie University and a Masters of Laws and Doctor of Law from the University of Munster.
