Summary of publication
Outlines results of assessments, which show that the Peace and Development Community framework can be a viable model for transforming conflict-affected areas into self-reliant communities. It provides a framework for reintegration of former combatants based on experience in the transformation of these war veterans into Peace and Development Advocates.
The Programme also supported a peace and conflict lens being adopted in planning, policy-formulation and implementation of development programs among government agencies and non-government organizations.
It has also strengthened partnerships among key institutions from the government, civil society, the private sector, academe, media and religious groups including the security sector in pursuit of peace, security and development.
