Summary of publication
Following a request from the Indonesian Vice President to the Australian Ambassador in early 2010, assistance ($2.75m over 18 months) was provided to the Vice-President's Office (VPO) to support whole-of-government bureaucracy reform. The assistance included the deployment a Governance Assistance Team or Tim Bantuan Tata Kelola Pemerintahan (TBTKP) to provide strategic planning advice to members of the Council for Guiding Bureaucratic Reform on changing systems and frameworks of government. The TBTKP activity commenced in May 2011 and was due to finish in September 2012.
An Independent Progress Review of the TBTKP assistance was conducted in January 2011 by a two person team. The IPR team found that the objectives of Australia's support are highly relevant to the needs of the Government of Indonesia (GOI) and the Government of Australia (GOA) and that the TBTKP was also highly consistent with the Paris Declaration (2005).
