Summary

The New Delhi Direct Aid Program released the #Development disability-inclusive report during the Disability Awareness Week on 13 to 17 August 2018. The report is an illustrative summary of the key disability-inclusive activities undertaken by the Australian High Commission under its #DirectAidProgram. The campaign was launched by Australia's High Commissioner to India, HE Ms Harinder Sidhu in August 2017.

The campaign comprised targeted projects and events to raise awareness about the importance of inclusive societies. It delivered a stronger platform to mobilise and build partnerships with government, business and civil society organisations. The report showcases some of the excellent work NGOs are undertaking across the country for a more accessible, inclusive India.

The report has been jointly prepared by Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, who partnered with the High Commission during the campaign.
