Description

To advance the international HIV/AIDS and development agenda, the Minister
for Foreign Affairs convened a special seminar, It's Everyone's Problem: HIV/AIDS and Development in Asia and the Pacific at Parliament House on 22 November 2000.

The seminar considered important issues in countering HIV/AIDS in the Asia
Pacific region. The Hon Alexander Downer, MP opened the seminar. Key speakers
where Emeritus Professor Jack Caldwell, Lady Roslyn Morauta, Wife of the Prime
Minister of Papua New Guinea and Ms Maire Bopp du Pont. Academic speakers
included Professor Rob Moodie, Dr Wendy Holmes, Professor Ian Riley and Dr Nick
Crofts.
