Vanuatu Village Health Worker Program: Management response to independent evaluation

Summary of publication

This paper summarises the findings of the independent evaluation of the Village Health Worker Program in 2012/13 as well as Australia's response. Overall all stakeholders were comfortable with the final report. The Australian Government endorsed all recommendations and accepted that there was sound rationale for continuing with the Program provided the key weaknesses identified in the evaluation were addressed. Central to the response to the report was a new tender for the program which adopted the recommendations. Save the Children Australia was the successful tenderer for the new program, which intends to be a more effective and efficient investment that delivers measurable results.
