Learning Assistance Program for Islamic Schools (LAPIS) Independent Completion Report—Management Response

Summary

This is the AusAID management response to the Learning Assistance Program for Islamic Schools (LAPIS) independent completion report.

Description

The AusAID management response to the independent completion report for the Learning Assistance Program for Islamic Schools (LAPIS) notes the independent review provided a coherent evaluation of the program. AusAID indicates that the report's recommendations will be used in supporting the Ministry of Religious Affairs in finalise their madrasah accreditation framework and in implementation of the school accreditation component under the new Education Partnership. AusAID agreed with all but one of the recommendations. The recommendation that AusAID's future assistance should include school management capacity development as a component of any future assistance was only partially accepted. AusAID agreed that while school management capacity was a weakness across madrasahs, how this could be addressed would require consultations with Islamic education stakeholders.
